This past Friday was “Birthday Friday”. Once a month, the school has a party for the students who have a birthday in that month. They buy a couple of cakes and a bunch of food and cancel the last class before lunch.
This was my first Birthday Friday and I had a really good time. The kids are so cute. I’m not sure who all the birthday students were (I’m still trying to learn my own students’ names). Each student got a hat and the rest of the kids sang happy birthday. Oh yes, in English, of course.
Rozina Teacher went to each birthday child and asked what they wanted to be when they grew up. From memory, we had two princesses, a fire fighter and a police man.
Food? We had pizza, chicken, fried rice, watermelon, bananas, some sort of Korean melon that I don’t know the name of, chips and cake.
I really enjoyed it.
And some pictures for your viewing pleasure…
Rozina Teacher and some of the kids before the party started.
This little one hates his birthday hat!
The candles are lit and we’re singing “Happy Birthday”.
Blow out those candles and make a wish!
