Pictures!

After a long hard fight, I finally have a photo gallery again.  I changed packages and didn’t break things into so many sub albums.  So look up.  See that link that says Photo Gallery? Give it a click.  Right now, only Little Campus pictures are there, but over the next few days I’ll be adding Maple Square pictures.  I’m even going to upload pictures from my first teaching job.  Some of those kids are middle and high schoolers now!

11-11-11

Happy Peppero Day all.  I was wondering if there were going to be any super fun or weird pepperos floating around.  I can say, I’ve seen the biggest boxes of them EVER.

I got about a half-dozen boxes from my students.  One of my kindergarteners gave me a cell phone charm that is a little girl holding a giant peppero.  Now that I love.  It’s so cute.

Believe it or not, I didn’t eat any.  Well, no, I take that back.  I ate one and then gave the rest of the box to the two students in my class.

You can buy them year round, but people usually only eat them on 11-11.  After 6 Peppero days, I can say I never want to see another one as long as I live.  It was worse when I taught in a full kindergarten.  I came home with a shopping bag full of them.  Most of all, I think my palate has changed.  I don’t crave sweets the way I used to.

I decided to go to Outback (what, did you think I was living in war-torn Korea?) for dinner.  I decided to get the Chocolate Thunder from Down Under.  Big mistake.  If you’re not familiar with it, it’s a scoop of whipped cream on top of a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top of a warm brownie.  My stomach is still yelling at me.

And thus so ends another Peppero Day.  It’ll probably be back to the same old regular sized boxes.  And for those who have no idea what I’m babbling on about, here a short history.

The Power of a Typo

My day started off rocky.  Long story, not relevant to this blog.  At least the day got better.  There was a typo in one of my text books.  “doing” was written as “dong”.  All of a sudden I hear “TEACHER ddong.  Hahahahahahahahaha!  Ddong!”  If you haven’t figured it out yet, ddong is Korean for dung.  It took me a minute to figure out what they were going on about.  And I admit.  I laughed.  You almost had to.  Only 1st graders would find that.  Case in point, the 4th graders later today didn’t even see it.  And I didn’t point it out.

Oh yes, and if you scroll down some (well, keep scrolling, you’ll get there), you’ll find the badge for my semi-new Facebook page.  Please drop by.  If you like the blog, consider giving me a like on my page.  Leave a message too.  I’m curious to see who my readers are and to get to know you.

Comments…

Interesting…  seems something has gone all wonky on this blog.  The posts publish and show, but if you try to click on a post, you get a 404 (not found) error.  Well, boogers.

:-(

I’m currently reading through the forums seeing if I can find any helpful information.  It seemed to start after setting up the WordPress app for my iPod Touch.  I’ll back out of that change and see what happens.  Until then, feel free to email me comments.  I’ll post my email in the side bar…

Yes I Am

What language am I?  Well.  What can I say?

Blogthings is good for a laugh.  That’s about it.

You Are English

You are easy to understand, and most people are able to communicate easily with you. You say things simply and clearly.

You are flexible and not too hung up on rules or customs. You can go with the flow and change as needed.

You can speak simply or you can exercise your vast vocabulary. You customize you communication style to whatever setting you’re in.

You are a very cosmopolitan and worldly person. If you like something from halfway around the world, you try to figure out a way to incorporate it into your life.

I’ve been trained

I went to bed last night.  It dawned on me as I was  lying in bed.   Ivory has me trained.  I was all the way by the wall, basically smushed into the corner.  She was all stretched out on the other part of the bed.

It’s true what they say.  Dogs have owners; cats have servants.

Kitten!

I have an adorable ball of fuzz. I’m so excited. It’s only in the last couple weeks I’ve felt like I’ve completed the grieving process with Sparkler. I loved her so much. But, I knew I didn’t want another guinea pig. I knew I wanted a cat. Now, you have to understand, Korea is not a cat country. No serious. It’s really not. I went to a dozen places before I found one with a cat for sale. And dear lord was she expensive. But she was totally worth every won I spent. She’s been in my life less than 12 hours and I can’t imagine living without her.

Right now, she’s curled up in (on?) one of my shoes. Once I coaxed her out from under the bed, she started to play. She has one of those mice on an elastic string tied to a stick. She loves it. She was going crazy. She’s purrs like no cat I’ve ever heard before.

I’m still working on the name thing. I know her Korean name will either be 눈(noon) which means snow (and eye) or 구름(goorum) which means cloud. I’m sort of leaning toward 눈. I’m just not sure what English name to give her. I’ll take suggestions.

So here are some pics of my new baby.
